The castle is one of Luxembourg's "precious goods" and attracts many visitors every year. It was built between the 11th and 14th centuries in a Romanesque and Gothic style. It has long belonged to the Grand Ducal family, but then changed owners in 1977. Today the castle is fully restored and hosts many different events throughout the year and has an informative tourist center.
